Looking Back

With promotion being Sunderland's one and only goal this season, it was hardly a surprise that Jack Ross opted to ring the changes for his side's midweek EFL Trophy game against Stoke U21. His men claimed a penalty shoot-out win.

The Black Cats' latest game saw them being held to a 1:1 draw by Oxford, but the result was not too bad, when having in min that they were reduced to ten men early on. Sunderland remain unbeaten in the league this season and have recorded four wins and two draws so far.

Looking Ahead

Max Power is the player who was sent off last time around and the midfielder will now serve the first game of a three-match ban.

Glenn Loovens and Adam Matthews failed late checks ahead of the previous game but are both expected to be available this time around.

Jerome Sinclair picked up an injury in the season opener and has been unavailable since. However, he is now fully fit.
