In Brief

Kimmich out injured. Martinez, Tolisso and Lewandowski also ruled out. Davies, Hernandez and Boateng questionable.

Looking Back

Extended their unbeaten run but were made to work hard for a positive result as they twice fought back from a goal down to secure a 3-3 draw.

Have won their last six games at home in Europe, scoring at least three goals on five occasions while also keeping cleansheet in three games.

Looking Ahead

Fans will not be allowed inside the stadiums due to the corona virus pandemic

Kimmich continues to miss out with a knee injury and will be joined on the sidelines by Martinez who has also been ruled out due to a muscular injury

Davies has a chance of returning from his lengthy injury spell though Boateng and Hernandez remain questionable with muscular injuries

Lewandowski is a fresh concern with the attacker ruled out due to a knock while the game comes too soon for Tolisso who has also been ruled out

Points of Interest

Have already qualified to the knockout stages and will be going through as the group leaders.

Lokomotiv Moscow

In Brief

Murilo is banned. Doubts over Kulikov, Zmemaletdinov, Ze Luis and Ribchinskyi Smolov and Barinov ruled out.

Looking Back

Produced a weak and insipid effort at home to Red Bull Salzburg last week and missed their chance to extend their European participation, falling to a 3:1 home loss in a game that could have been won. Yet the team lacked belief and never really looked like avoiding a loss, undoing much of the good work from the earlier games in the group.

Had a bit of a fortuitous but also important win over Rubin Kazan at the weekend in a league, coming back from a goal down to win 3:1 and return to form after winning just one of the previous five league games.

Looking Ahead

Finish the Champions League group campaign with a game away at a superb Bayern side and will look to give it a decent account of themselves and try to take some points of what is likely to be a second-string line-up of the Bavarians.

Marko Nikolic suddenly has a very limited set of options ahead of the game as the likes of Ze Luis, Dmitry Rybchinskyi, Rifat Zhemaletdinov and Daniil Kulikov, who was suspected to be positive of COVID-19, are all serious doubts for the game. Also missing important defender Murilo due to accumulation of bookings. Fedor Smolov remains out with a collarbone injury and the likes of Dmitri Barinov and Mikhail Lysov are sidelined.

Points of Interest

Lokomotiv are actually on a pretty decent run of just two losses in the last five away games in Europe and will hope to replicate the result from their last visit to Germany, back in September in 2019, when they defeated Bayer Leverkusen 2:1.
