West Ham United

Last updated: Sat 31 August 2019 08:13
In Brief

Feeling much better after back-to-back wins. Silva, Reid and Antonio set to miss.

Looking Back

West Ham able to record first league win of season last weekend when Haller scored twice to deliver 3:1 away success vs. Watford.

Also won in midweek in League Cup, with 2:0 away success vs. Newport achieved after Wilshere and Fornals scored their first goals of season.

Looking Ahead

Coach Pellegrini used many reserves in midweek, but for this one he is expected to revert back to those that forged the win vs. Watford last weekend. This should mean second consecutive league start for Yarmolenko.

Antonio sustained nasty looking injury on Tuesday and he joins Silva and Reid on sidelines.

Points of Interest

Hardly using right wing so far, only 3% of shots in first games from that area – 28% from left wing and 69% through the middle.

Norwich City

In Brief

Defending has been poor so far. Knocked out of League Cup on Tuesday. Klose, Hanley and Hernandez sidelined. Zimmermann and Drmic passed fit.

Looking Back

Norwich already conceded 8 goals in the first 3 rounds and protecting own goal has been main weakness so far. Fact that 3 of 4 starters at the back so far aged 21 and younger main reason for that.

After dramatic home defeat vs. Chelsea last weekend things got even worse on Tuesday when 0:1 League Cup loss vs. Crawley ended interest in that competition quickly.

Looking Ahead

Coach Farke saw his best centre-back Klose making comeback from injury on Tuesday only to sustain what looked like an ACL injury vs. Crawley and he is set to miss many games now.

Hernandez remains in rehabilitation too, plus captain Hanley hurt his groin in training and also won't travel. At least Drmic and Zimmermann fit again.

Points of Interest

Pukki the one to watch with his 5 league goals already.
