Game Report

Highlights

Leeds maintained their position at the top of the Championship as they beat Derby 2-0. But that does not tell the story with Marcelo Bielsa admitting before the match that his side had spied on Derby in the run up to the match. In the end Kemar Roofe's early goal and one from Jack Harrison early in the second half gave the Whites victory. Derby remain in 6th spot.

Detail

Jack Clarke started for Leeds with Pontus Jansson fit to return to the defence. Harry Wilson again missed out for Derby with Andre Wisdom starting at right back.

Leeds will feel they should have had a penalty inside the opening moments as Wisdom fouled Ezgjan Alioski and a decision reversed due to a questionable offside.

But Leeds totally dominated and eventually took the lead on 20 minutes as the impressive Jack Clarke crossed for Roofe to convert.

It was game over for Derby just two minutes after half-time as Alioski set up Harrison to score from close range.

Derby could not find a way back into the game in an attacking performance that will leave boss Frank Lampard baffled.

Summary

Undoubtedly the spying storm was the main story from this match but whether it actually had an impact on the result or performances of both sides is questionable. Leeds needed a win after losing their way somewhat. Derby have lost their mojo in an attacking sense recently.
