Bayern's poor run of form continued as they suffered another disappointing defeat, this time losing 0-3 at home to Borussia Monchengladbach. Early goals by Alassane Plea and Lars Stindl had put Gladbach in control of the proceedings by midway through the first half and with Bayern unable to find a way back into the match, Patrick Hermann came off the bench to wrap up the victory with a third goal in the final minutes of normal time.

Bayern were determined to snap out of their recent dip in form and the hosts were on the attack right from the start, putting some early pressure on the Gladbach defense and nearly grabbing the lead just out five minutes after kickoff when Arjen Robben picked out Robert Lewandowski but the attacker's header from inside the six-yard box was blocked by Matthias Ginter

Gladbach managed to ride out the early pressure and grabbed the lead with their first real opportunity following some excellent one-touch passing move outside the Bayern box that ended with Plea smashing home a low drive into the bottom corner.

Things became even worse for Bayern just six minutes later as Gladbach doubled their advantage as Thiago gave the ball away to Jonas Hofmann in a dangerous position and the midfielder passed the ball on to Stindl who took one touch to make space for himself in the box before smashing home past Neuer

Bayern tried to respond to the twin strikes and nearly managed to get a goal back on the half hour mark only for Yann Sommer coming up with a great reaction save to deny Robben from a point blank range. That was the closest the hosts got to scoring a goal for the rest of the first half as Gladbach were happy to sit back and defend their comfortable lead until the halftime whistle

The hosts made a double change at halftime with Franck Ribery and Serge Gnabry both coming on while Renato Sanches was also sent on for David Alaba 10 minutes later but for all their best efforts, Bayern were struggling to breach the Gladbach defense and on the rare occasion when they did manage to get a shot on target, Sommer was on hand to ensure there would be no way back for the hosts

Gladbach rarely committed men on the attack, with Florian Neuhaus effort on the counter they closest they got to troubling Neuer for large portions of the second half before finally wrapping up the victory two minutes from end of normal time as Herrmann swept home Christoph Kramer's delivery following a corner to secure all three points for his side

Pressure grows on coach Niko Kovac following another dismal result for Bayern who have now gone four games without a win in all competitions, losing twice in the process and finding themselves down to sixth place in the Bundesliga table. An excellent result for Gladbach who continue their impressive start to the campaign and coach Dieter Hecking will be keen to ensure they will able to sustain over the next few weeks
