Despite several managerial changes secured 7th place in the end. Only goal difference kept them out of the top 6. Had the 3rd weakest attack though – 22 goals in 22 games. This despite top scorer Olivia Smith (7 goals) being very efficient. She was sold this summer to Arsenal for a record fee. Important defenders Matthews and Hinds also left. Yet to reinvest any of the money received for them. CB Lily Woodham is the only notable new signing that could potentially become a regular starter. Of course, securing the long-term stay of solid CM Kerr was a good move too. Parted ways with their main star up front Smith and with their most experienced CF Daniels. Yet to sign any new forwards. It seems the Reds will trust Haug and Kiernan to provide enough goals. Young CF Enderby (20) could see extended minutes too. Settled on a permanent new manager over the summer. Gareth Taylor spent the last 5 years in charge of Man City, sacked only last March. He’s very experienced at this level. Liverpool currently have the smallest squad in the entire WSL, just 21 senior players. Have time to reinvest some of the money from Smith’s transfer so a big name or two could be signed.

Target

Will be delighted with a top 6 finish. Top 10 will be a good enough outcome too.
