The Gunners finally managed to win the much-coveted Premier League title and did so deservedly, boasting the best defence, the best goalkeeper and the best set-piece record in the competition. They also went all the way to the Champions League final, where they failed to impress and lost to PSG. Arsenal decided to keep their backbone intact this summer, with sometimes starting winger Leandro Trossard being the only notable departure for the time being. He was replaced by a talented Christos Tzolis, while Arsenal significantly strengthened their midfield with the arrival of Bruno Guimarães. Meanwhile, their pre-season preparations have been disrupted by the involvement of as many as 15 internationals in the World Cup – including key players such as David Raya, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice who went far in the tournament. Guimarães' arrival arguably gives Arsenal the league's most complete midfield, with Rice, Martin Zubimendi, Mikel Merino and Martin Ødegaard also providing quality and depth. Meanwhile, the right-back position could still be an area for Arsenal to strengthen, with Jurriën Timber and Ben White's injury issues having forced Mikel Arteta to deploy players out of position during some key games last season.

Target

Getting to the summit is hard, but proving you belong there is harder. Arsenal will aim for a second straight league title, with the arrival of Guimarães a strong statement of intent.
