Football Season Guide

It was a tough season in 2023 for Yokohama FC. Despite only one team being relegated from the top flight last year FC failed to save themselves. They finished only 4 points behind Kashiwa Reysol and even won one more game than the Yellows. Unfortunately, having the weakest attack in J1 proved costly. Yokohama scored only 31 goals in 34 matches. This proved to be their undoing. In the end, despite some good wins Yokohama fell short and dropped a division. Naturally, a large number of regular starters left this winter but Yokohama FC still have a squad that should look solid and dominant in this division. There is a nice mixture of experience and youth in the squad and the scoring returns for the likes of Yuri Lara and Caprini should be much better in the lower division. To add even more depth and competition in attack proven in J2 strikers Mori, Muroi and Sakuragawa were also signed so now the Blues have much better depth in attack.
