Despite having the fourth worst defence, 61 goals conceded in 34 rounds, stayed out of trouble all year. Finished 10th in the end and enjoyed comfort in 2025 after a successful managerial change in early December. Portuguese Gomes took over from Guido Hoffmann and under his guidance Al Fateh’s record was the eighth best in 2025. It has been a challenging summer though. Several important players left and Al Fateh are yet to sign any replacements. Opted to wait and look for top players on the cheap late in the transfer window. A risky move but it has worked for them in the past when they were able to land some good players for a quarter of the price they would have paid for them just a month earlier. Right now coach Gomes has no real attacking options with the only strikers on the current roster very young Saudi players. Wingers Vargas and Sbai could be used as fluid front two, at least until reinforcements arrive. Experienced centre-backs Fernandes and Saadane struggled last season. Not certain they will do much better this year, so Al Fateh need goalscorers to compensate for their issues in defence. Australian playmaker Harrison received Saudi citizenship so he can now play without any restrictions. He is a quality player that can orchestrate the midfield line with the help of veteran Bendebka.

Target

Hope for another season of mid-table comfort.
