Admira have been the feel good story of the Bundesliga over the recent years, as the Modlingers kept staying away from danger despite having one of the smallest budgets in the Austrian top flight. Still managed by Ernst Baumeister, the Modlingers have demonstrated a remarkable ability to cope with losing key players as well as managers and have had yet another summer during which numerous stars have left the side. Markus Wostry's move to LASK was agreed as early as January, with this causing the defender to be frozen out of the side for a while, but several other starters have also left in the likes of Maximilian Sax, Markus Lackner and Lukas Grozurek. Moreover, Admira's squad has reduced in numbers, as they have lost five more players than they have brought in so far. When it comes to their list of arrivals, Admira's financial situation means that they have to look for diamonds in the rough more often than not and this was the case this summer as well, as none of the players that were signed have any experience of playing in the Austrian top flight. While Admira have consistently been better than the sum of their parts, one cannot help but wonder how long they can get away with allowing key players to leave the club without even attempting to replace them.

Target

Their recent league campaigns will have their fans dreaming of an European place, but the board are unlikely to feel disappointed with Baumeister for as long as he keeps them away from trouble.
