Bath City had a wonderful campaign last year when they defied the critics and comfortably finished in mid-table in their first season since promotion. It was a credit to the incredible work that Addie Britton has done with the side and the players who gave it all and never showed loss of concentration while being effective against bigger teams in the league. The second season is always tougher for a team like Bath with the bar now raised much higher and the teams knowing what to expect when facing the Romans. The main problem for the manager will be to find a way to make his side difficult to beat once again and at the same time keep the players fully motivated and thus able to outperform the opposition. One of the plusses for Bath in the summer was that they signed all their new players early on and some of them will definitely add quality and experience. Lee Phillips was all on his own up front last season but Jamie Cook has now arrived from Crawley and will be a great partner up front. Gary Mills is also a good player in midfield while Alex Russell is back after a short spell last season and will bring guile in the middle of the park too. Overall, Bath City are in good position to repeat the heroics of last year but the second-season complex is definitely bound to catch up at some point and the manager will pray that injuries do not hinder the squad too much. Either way, Britton will continue to insist on play a football that is easy on the eye while at the same time being effective and will hope that it all comes into place during the season.

Target

Bath City have an year of experience at this level but will surely find it tougher this season compared to the last. Still, should be alright at the end and an lower mid-table finish is within their reach.
