Augsburg will be looking to build on their excellent season from last time around and hope to feature in the top half of the Bundesliga table yet again when the season kicks off later this month. Augsburg enjoyed their best ever season in the Bundesliga, narrowly missing out on a Europa League qualification after finishing just one point behind seventh placed Mainz. Coach Markus Weinzierl will nevertheless be delighted with his side's performances and has been busy building the side to get them ready for another successful season. Weinzierl has focused on improving his attack, signing as many as three strikers with Tim Matavz, Shawn Parker and Nikola Djurdjic arriving from PSV, Mainz and Greuther Furth. Caiuby has been impressive in the 2.Bundesliga over the past few seasons and the winger will now have a chance to showcase his skills in the top flight of German football. Markus Feulner and Max Reinthaler have also signed on for free while Abdul Rahman Baba will be the first choice left back after Augsburg confirmed that they have sold Matthias Ostrzolek to Hamburger SV. Augsburg though will be missing two important pieces from last season, with Andre Hahn completing a cut price move to Borussia Monchengladbach after an impressive season while Kevin Vogt has also been sold to newly promoted side FC Koln. Weinzierl is likely to stick with the 4-1-4-1 formation that has brought him much success over the last season, with majority of his first choice players still at the club, though Matavz is likely to lead the line for Augsburg with either Parker or Caiuby expected to replace Hahn on the flanks. Augsburg have been one of the form sides since January of last year and with Weinzierl having boosted his side with some quality signings, a safe mid-table position will be easily achievable this season

Target

Augsburg will miss Andre Hahn's accurate delivery from the flanks but have enough quality to secure a comfortable mid-table position
