Thanks to a comeback win against Lazio, who were above them in the table, Inter miraculously achieved the qualification to the Champions League in the final minutes of the past season. Then, they found a valid alternative to Mauro Icardi for the attack in the young and promising Lautaro Martinez, from Racing Club. For the attack, they also acquired a winger as Matteo Politano, who has proven to be also a capable scorer, when at Sassuolo. However, they can certainly rejoice for Radja Nainggolan's arrival from Roma. Always highly appreciated by Spalletti, the Belgian midfielder is set to become a leader for Inter in the midfield, while providing some heavy goals. And Sime Vrsaljko, on loan from Atletico Madrid, should turn into a protagonist at right-back. The young Alessandro Bastoni, arriving from Atalanta, could represent a valid alternative for the heart of the defence while Joao Mario could also be given some substantial playing time, now that he is back from a loan to West Ham United. Inter are still looking for a midfielder and the news is that they are trying to sign Luka Modric from Real Madrid.
