Malmo will hope that the first half of last season is completely erased from memory by now, as Magnus Pehrsson was dismissed after a terrible 1-0 defeat to relegation fodder Trelleborgs and a dismal showing in the cup final against Djurgarden. It was a sorry way to end what had been a successful spell under him. Since then Uwe Rosler stepped in and stabilised the club brilliantly. But they still finished nine points behind champions AIK which tells you exactly how chaotic those first couple of months were for the club. They have progressed since then though, with a good run in the Europa League and Rosler keeping the squad in check. The pre-season form has been ok, without them pulling up any trees. They will be disappointed not be involved in this year's Swedish Cup Final, and the recent 4-1 friendly defeat against rivals Norrkoping with a strong line up might cause some concern. But Malmo usually save their best to when it really matters, and Rosler's team are red hot favourites to make the Allsvenskan theirs again.
