The Revs fell apart after losing key players Adam Buksa, Matt Turner and Tajon Buchanan last season and failed to bounce back, finishing 10th in the Eastern Conference one year after setting a new MLS record for points in a campaign (73) back in 2021. New England released some squad players, but they managed to strengthen their squad with the signings of experienced Nashville centre-back Dave Romney, as well as one of the league’s most talented attacking midfielders in Latif Blessing. Both Romney and Blessing will be offered starting spots, but Bruce Arena has managed to keep his backbone intact in his bid to help his team regain momentum. Meanwhile, Giacomo Vrioni should be considered as a new singing too, as injuries prevented the former Juventus forward from showcasing his talent after joining the team back in July. Following Blessing’s arrival, the Revs boast one of the finest MLS midfields, one which will be led again this season by an extraordinary Carles Gil, who registered 16 goal contributions last term. What is concerning is that none of their forwards managed double digits in 2022 and this is something that New England need to deal with in order to push for playoff qualification.

Target

A deep run might be difficult to achieve for the Revs. However, their target should be to return to the playoffs after missing out following a disappointing 2022 season.
