Sochaux went through a two-faced campaign last season. In fact, up until the beginning of November they were flying high, sitting ine 5th place and holding dreams of promotion. Then, the lights suddenly went out and they basically stopped winning. Having obtained just 1 success out of the last 14 games played, they ended up 14th. Sochaux relied mostly on their home performances, as they lost only 3 out of 14 games, while they were amongst the worst travellers of the Ligue 2. Despite such a troubled season, coach Omar Daf was confirmed at the helm of the team for the new campaign. Sochaux underwent a major overhaul over the summer as the management, first of all, got rid of all those players who hardly ever made the pitch in the past campaign - people like Glaentzlin, Senzemba or Privat, to name a few. Moreover, they lost several regulars due to end of their loans, in the case of Livolant, who had done wonders on the right wing, scoring 4 and assisting 4, left-back Rocchia, centre-back Teikeu, winger Touré and holding midfielder Sitti. On top of that, they released their top scorer, Sané, who had contributed to their cause with 10 goals and 3 assists. While they strengthened the defence with Pogba, who should represent a good back-up for centre-backs Lacroix or Diedhiou, and the midfield with Lopy, who is set to earn himself some playing time in the middle of the park, Kitala was the sole addition for the attack. And that could represent a serious problem, considering that the 22-year-old has limited experience and scored just 2 goals in the past campaign at FC Lorient.

Target

Sochaux aim at repeating their performances in the first half of the past campaign, but they will need some time to get up to full speed. A top 10 finish should be achievable.
