In Brief

Santos pushing for a start, as is Bischof. A change of personnel likely. Bukta/Schutzenauer/Ouedraogo are out. Koller may not be risked.

Looking Back

Left it late to overcome part-timers Traiskirchen / Tribusw. 2-1 in the OFB-Cup last time out. Had to come from behind, and needed two quite late goals from Santos and Fadinger to avoid embarrassment.

Looking Ahead

Changes are likely after an unconvincing showing in the OFB-Cup. An impressive cameo by Santos may see him play ahead of Jurcec up top, and Bischof displace Nuhiu.

Midfield regular Bukta is carrying an injury. He did not make the squad for the OFB-Cup match.

Backup GK Schutzenauer is carrying an injury; not a problem whilst Stojanovic is available.

New CB Koller may not be thrown into the lion's den against Red Bull Salzburg, having only just arrived from Grazer AK this week.

Young defender Ouedraogo is injured; not a loss.

Piffer, Maksimovic, and Kaiba are all fit but lacking match practice so played with the Junior team on 28/07/23.

Points of Interest

Have not managed to defeat Salzburg in their last six attempts.

In Brief

Boss Jaissle sacked. Bidstrup may start. Capaldo/Diambou/Sucic/Omoregie/Okoh/Koita/Guindo out. Attack is a significant problem, especially with Fernando doubtful. Ulmer also a doubt.

Looking Back

Drubbed SG Ardagger/Viehdorf 6-0 in the OFB-Cup recently. Barely broke sweat in doing so as Jaissle was true to his word, naming his strongest eleven possible against amateur opposition.

Looking Ahead

Boss Jaissle has been sacked ahead of his impending move to Al Ahli. Assistant coaches Florens Koch and Alexander Hauser will take charge for this game.

Rotation options Okoh, Guindo, Morgalla, and Omoregie are absent. None are missed, although in the case of LB Guindo it could be an issue with Terzic yet to be given permission to play and Ulmer rated as 50/50 to play.

Regulars Fernando, and Sucic are all carrying injuries. There's a lot of depth in this squad but that's two of their best players potentially on the sidelines, which isn't easy to deal with, especially in the case of Sucic and Fernando (keeping in mind that they've now sold both Okafor and Sesko). Latter is now back in training but unlikely to feature. Koita is also out so they're really short of options up front.

Midfield regular Capaldo will be out until mid-August because of injury; a big blow, despite their depth. Backup CM Diambou will be out for a long time with injury too.

Points of Interest

Haven't lost against SCR Altach in six consecutive meetings.
