May rotate. Prass, Borkovic, Serrano, Jantscher, and Dermaku in contention. Sarkaria is injured.
Produced a really solid, professional showing to overcome LASK 2-0 last weekend. Didn't risk much en route, and took their chances well.
Conceded an early goal in Eindhoven midweek, and promptly fell apart, suffering an incredibly damaging defeat that makes turning things around next week all but impossible.
May need to rotate because of fixture congestion. A more important fixture (PSV Eindhoven at home) looms in the middle of next week, even though the tie already looks beyond Sturm Graz. Gazibegovic, Borving, Prass, Wuthrich, Schnegg, Hierlander contenders to be benched/omitted if rotation is to take place. Boss Ilzer talking about the second leg, "“An advancement is unrealistic. But we believe in this unrealistic opportunity.”
Serrano, Borkovic, and Dermaku were deemed fit enough to make the bench midweek so should be back in contention for the matchday squad. Even club legend Jantscher, omitted from the past couple of squads, made the bench midweek.
Despite suffering a bad knock when clattered into by da Graca, Prass was fit enough to start midweek.
Although he made the bench last weekend following an injury, Sarkaria was ruled out of the midweek match with a hamstring injury. Not a huge loss with Wlodarczyk in the form he is but still a good attacking option. Sarkaria is likely to miss all remaining August matches.
Rotation possible. Gkezos may be pushed into midfield. Jaritz struggling for starts. Schwarz may debutise.
The forced midweek derby swung back and forth. Both teams made errors. Wolfsberger AC's second-half substations proved pivotal. A draw was a fair outcome.
After poor weather forced their weekend match to be played midweek instead, fixture congestion could lead to rotation where possible (e.g. Bonnah, Djoric starting).
Problems remain in attack with Soto and Binder both out until mid-August at the earliest. Karweina and Arweiler are playing well together in their absence though.
New midfielder May is carrying an injury.
Although deployed as a third CB last match, midfielder Gkezos may end up in a more familiar role in midfield for this tough away game.
Jaritz is struggling for starts, and this is a tough away game so displacing Schumacher looks unlikely. Schwarz pushing to debutise after making the bench midweek.
Defender Robatsch is carrying an injury; not missed.
