In Brief

Ulmer is still injured. Attack still an issue. No sign of Fernando yet. Wallner/Okoh injured.

Looking Back

Defeated WSG Tirol 3-0 last time out without breaking sweat. Took a while to get the opening goal but didn't find it tough to run the show from start to finish so it was always coming.

Lost 4-3 against Internazionale in a midweek friendly. Named a strong side. Okoh and Wallner picked up injuries.

Looking Ahead

Rotation options Guindo and Omoregie are injured. Neither are missed.

Attack is still a problem with Sucic out, and now Ratkov too after sustaining a thigh injury against SCR Altach. Koita remains injured. Fernando is back in training but wasn't risked last match, and won't be this time either.

Midfield regular Capaldo will be out until mid-August because of injury; a big blow, despite their depth. Backup CM Diambou will be out for a long time with injury too. Young midfielder Yeo is injured; not missed.

Rotation LB Ulmer is carrying an injury; not an issue now that Terzic is fairly settled.

Have signed teenage midfielder Elione Fernandes-Neto but has immediately been loaned out to feeder club Liefering.

Backup CB Okoh suffered a bad injury in the game against Internazionale, and may not play again in 2023. Young defender Wallner will most likely be out for the rest of August, having picked up an injury in the same match. Neither are missed at this time.

In Brief

Schmidt may debutise. Plavotic is a doubt. Ranftl, Galvao, and Fischer return. Rotation likely, particularly for Holland and Potzmann. Jukic doubtful. Wels/Baltaxa could return. Potzmann/Gruber 50/50.

Looking Back

Produced a resilient display to win 2-1 against Legia Warsaw in Poland midweek. Had to ride their luck at times in the second-half though.

Won 2-0 away from home against Austria Lustenau last weekend. Gave too many chances away but weren't punished for it. Created a boatload themselves though, and were worthy winners.

Looking Ahead

Rotation CB Plavotic picked up an injury in Poland midweek. Not a loss in general but with da Graca still suspended (until the trip to Linz at the end of August), they're running a little short of options. Potzmann and Gruber picked up knocks/complaints in the same match, and are rated as 50/50 for this game.

Rotation would be preferred (where possible), either because of fatigue from midweek or in anticipation of their second leg next week. Holland, Potzmann, Gruber likely to be rotated out.

Ranftl, Galvao, and Fischer were all slight doubts after their game last weekend but all were in the squad midweek so they're back in contention.

Young talent El Sheiwi is a long-term absentee.

Talented midfielder Wustinger has - despite his youthful age - suffered a second ACL injury. He won't be playing again for a long time.

New midfielder Wels is now fit but was not selected midweek, most likely to give him time to settle in at hsi new club.

Rotation defender Baltaxa is ready to play after injury but was not utilised midweek.

Have found a solution to their Tabakovic-shaped hole up front by acquiring Schmidt, a forward who knows the Bundesliga well by now. May debutise. Manager has had to concede defeat with not knowing when injury-prone Raguz will be available again.

Midfield regular Jukic was a surprise absentee midweek. No reason was given for his absence but they confirmed all the players that were injured and his name was not on the list. If available, he will make the squad.
