In Brief

Schmid may debutise. Matzler & Cisse return. Gmeiner struggling for game time. Captain Maak out. Fridrikas 50/50.

Looking Back

Drew 0-0 against SW Bregenz in a friendly during the international break. Opted to rest Maak and Schierl, whilst Grabher was still injured. Disjointed showing; barely created anything other than via Schmid's set pieces on his unofficial debut.

Were beaten 2-0 by LASK before the international break. A little harsh on them as they defended stoutly throughout and seldom looked troubled but simply didn't offer enough in attack.

Looking Ahead

Have signed Schmid on a free transfer. Can play at RB or as a RW. May debutise after impressing in a friendly.

Midfielder Rhein is capitalising upon Grabher's injury by taking his starting role. The German is a perfectly able deputy. Now seems likely it'll be Tiefenbach that is dropped when Grabher does return.

Defensive regular Matzler returns from injury, which is a stroke of good fortune with Captain Maak set to miss out with a slight back problem. Maak will still be missed though.

Rotation striker Cisse should return following an eye complaint but will be vying with new attacker Nikolai Baden Frederiksen for a place in the squad. They're both lucky that star striker Fridrikas is only 50/50 because of injury. He'll be missed if he fails but Frederiksen is a good addition to their squad so it's not the end of the world.

Schierl was rested for a recent friendly ahead of this game.

Gmeiner is struggling for game-time, both because of Anderson's form and the formation switch.

Rotation option Koc may be omitted.

In Brief

Kronberger is injured. Diarra now has a visa. Blume may return. Muller closing in on a return.

Looking Back

Although they defeated Dornbirn 4-1 in a friendly during the international break, it proved a costly affair as they lost Kronberger to injury in the process.

Embarrassed themselves at home before the international break, being ruthlessly pounded 4-2 by newly-promoted Blau-Weiss Linz at home.

Looking Ahead

Key midfielder Kronberger sustained an injury in the win against Dornbirn and will be out until late September/early October. A huge blow - there really isn't an adequate replacement for him.

Midfield regular Blume should return after long-term injury; may start from the bench if fit enough.

Regular CB Štumberger was the one to fall foul of both Bacher and Gugganig being available at the same time last match; may need to get used to life on the bench in future.

Number one goalkeeper Oswald is a long-term absentee, which remains a problem although Stejskal is warming to the task of being his replacement.

Vice-captain Muller is closing in on a return; 50/50 for this match. Taferner's arrival has lessened that problem considerably though.

New attacker Diarra now has a work visa; he debutised from the bench last match.

Rotation options Okungbowa, Naschberger, Jaunegg, and Votter may be omitted.

Rotation options Geris and Tomic are carrying knocks; neither would be missed.
