Hofmann is a doubt. Kasanwirjo, Gale, Kongolo, and Grgic may debutise. Burgstaller out for a while.
Hammered part-timers SKU Amstetten 6-1 in a friendly during the international break despite being without a plethora of squad players. Grgic, Kongolo, and Kasanwirjo were able to play for Rapid for the first time.
Were easily beaten by Salzburg 2-0 in the derby before the international break. Had no chance with so many important players out, and it should have been a more lopsided scoreline.
Rotation defender Hoffmann has an ankle injury; unclear how serious but it kept him out of a recent friendly.
New signing Gale and returning midfielder Grgic may debutise. If so, it may cost Kaygin and Strunz their respective places in the matchday squad.
Veteran RB Schick's injury should be less problematic now that their new defenders are eligible to play. Kasanwirjo may play ahead of Oswald in that position, which makes more sense.
Suffered a huge blow when Captain Cvetkovic tore a cruciate ligament. He's been amazing so it's a big problem that he'll be out for a long time, most likely until the end of 2023. New defender Kongolo made his unofficial debut in a recent friendly so they're working on the solution though.
Although back in rehabilitation following injury, it's understood that Pejic will remain out for some time to come.
Key striker Burgstaller is still carrying an injury; a huge blow as Mayulu couldn't hit a barn door half of the time, and Grull is not a typical striker (plus has struggled since being linked with a move away from the club). The latest is that Burgstaller will be out until mid-October at the earliest.
Will be paying respects to former player Leopold Grausam before this game, a fan favourite from many decades ago, who sadly passed away recently.
Boakye returns. Rotation likely. Kennedy should be ok to play. Jasic returns. Finding a reliable attacking trio is proving problematic. Kerschbaumer getting frustrated. Ballo is 50/50.
Were embarrassed 3-0 at home by TSV Hartberg before the international break. The scoreline was a tad flattering for the visitors but Wolfsberger AC were poor in front of goal, and sloppy at the back.
Defensive regular Kennedy sustained a head injury last match. However, given that it was two weeks ago, chances are good that he'll be fine to play.
Rotation likely after the shambolic result last time out.
Regular attacker Boakye returns from suspension. Attack is very much up in the air at the moment as to the best trio to rely upon in general so other than Ballo, any of Zimmermann, Boakye, Rieder, and Sabitzer could be benched whilst they seek solutions. Unfortunately, they now have to deal with Ballo carrying a knock. It's not serious, but if he fails then their unconvincing attack would struggle even more as he's integral.
Key midfielder Jasic shook off his knock in time to play last match, albeit from the bench.
Rotation options Kerschbaumer, Muller, Ibertsberger, and Rocher may be omitted. Former is getting very irritated by not being given a chance in the team despite his obvious quality and experience.
Novak is back in training after injury. Veratschnig and Baumgartner's presence makes Novak's absence somewhat irrelevant.
