Fulham’s Premier League stay lasted just one season as they were relegated back down to the Championship. There has been a change of manager over the summer with former Everton, Watford and Hull boss Marco Silva replacing Scott Parker. The Portuguese has so far had mixed results in his managerial roles in England. On the playing staff, most of Fulham’s standout performers last season were on loan so they have departed. However, the remaining squad is largely the one that achieved promotion from the Championship during the 2019/20 season. The likes of Tom Cairney, Alfie Mawson and Joe Bryan are consistent, solid performers at this level. Flair is provided by Ivan Cavaleiro and Anthony Knockaert among others. Several of these players saw little game time last season or were out on loan so the challenge for Silva is to get them playing well again for Fulham. New recruit Wilson adds further creativity, the Wales international has performed well in previous loan spells in the Championship, he played 38 times for Cardiff last season. Fulham’s major problem last season was scoring goals. Mitrovic looks likely to be again relied upon as the main goalscorer. He only scored three times last season but hit 26 in the 2019/20 Championship promotion-winning season.
