LAFC were very close to defending their MLS title from 2022 but in the end in their second consecutive Finals appearance they lost vs Columbus Crew. It was a hectic season for LAFC with the team playing 2-3 matches a week for several months early on. This was due to the amazing run LAFC had in the CONCACAF Champions League, a competition they won back in June for the first time in their history. The players looked visibly tired at the end of the season after all the football they played and this was probably the only reason why they missed out on back-to-back MLS titles. This winter some serious changes took place in the LAFC roster. All of the 3 main goalies left but Tottenham and France’s captain Hugo Lloris was signed so this position is sorted, if not improved. Captain Vela (34) and experienced Chiellini (39) are no longer in the squad either. Kelly Acosta also left but Eduard Atuesta has been signed to play in his role anyway. Tomas Angel should spearhead the front three with last season’s MLS top goalscorer Bouanga set to remain key figure up front. LAFC now know how to manage the load of Champions League football and domestic fixtures better, so they will be keen to make it 3 consecutive MLS Finals appearances.

Target

After back-to-back MLS Finals appearances naturally the goal is to be part of the last match of the year again.
