Millwall are back into League One following a five-year stay in the Championship, as club-record goalscorer Neil Harris was unable to save them from the drop after taking over from Ian Holloway late in the previous season. The Lions have decided to stick with the former striker despite his inability to keep them up, but the task that has been set in front of Harris is quite clear, as he will be expected to at least get the Lions to challenge for a top six place. As is usually the case with newly-relegated teams, Millwall have suffered a real exodus of players during the summer, with the list of those who have departed including some of their most high-profile names such as Ricardo Fuller, while the Lions have also parted ways with long-serving defender Alan Dunne, who leaves after spending the entirety of his 15-year professional career with the club. The list of players who have arrived is rather underwhelming due to the fact that it contains only three names, but former Brentford defender Tony Craig is a rather eye-catching signing, as he played a key role in the Bees' promotion campaign two years ago. Despite losing a lot of players during the summer without replacing them, Millwall still have plenty of quality and depth by League One standards, and look to be capable of pushing for a swift return to the Championship, at least on paper. However, there are a lot of question marks regarding them, with Harris's lack of managerial experience perhaps being the biggest one.

Target

Millwall are going through a transition at the moment, but will still be hoping for a swift return to the second tier. They have a very strong squad of paper, but there are also a lot of question marks regarding them.
