2022/23 was an ok one for Leuven although they narrowly missed out on the European playoffs, finishing 10th. Making the European playoffs was a stated goal by the owners last campaign, so missing them led to speculation over the future of Head Coach Marc Brys, but it has been decided he will stay on. The off season has seen the departure of three important players from last campaign. 13-goal top scorer Gonzalez's loan contract has expired. De Norre was a revelation last season as the usual left-sided player thrived in a central midfield role but he has now left along with winger Al-Tamari, a standout player over the last few seasons. Coming in so far have been largely unproven players at this level. The most exciting recruit is N’Dri, the young attacker impressed at fellow First Division A side Eupen last season scoring seven goals and providing five assists. Leuven have an established Head Coach in Brys who is tactically astute at this level and played an attractive brand of football last season. He has a strong core of players with a good mix of experience and youth. Leuven were inconsistent last campaign and went a period of registering just two wins in 16 matches. Although they finished the season with three straight victories, scoring three goals in each of these matches.
