2022/23 was a season of struggle for Eupen as they battled against relegation, it was a close call but they ultimately managed to retain their First Division A status. Despite keeping them up, the club decided against renewing the contract of Head Coach Edward Still. German Florian Kohfeldt has been brought in as Still’s replacement. Kohfeldt has managed in the German Bundesliga but didn’t enjoy much success. There have been significant departures over the off season with influential captain Peeters and hardworking striker Prevljak, both key players in their successful survival fight, leaving the club. Exciting winger N’Dri has also departed. Wolfsburg striker Bialek was brought in on loan to replace Prevljak but has already suffered a serious knee injury. The only other incoming so far is experienced central midfielder Mohwald. It is clear the board have faith in the managerial skills of Kohfeldt and they are targeting the European playoffs. That seems unrealistic at the moment with the playing squad on paper currently weaker than last campaign. A lot of work on the training ground is needed as well as more useful acquisitions.

Target

European playoffs but could again be a season of struggle.
