Had a good campaign last season although it surprisingly ended against rivals Sydney FC when it looked like they'd go all the way. Looking really impressive for the season ahead. Have lost regulars like Layouni, Schneiderlin, Amalfitano, Nieuwenhof, Mrcela, Traore, Yengi, and N’Gbakoto so may endure a slow start whilst they bring their new players up to speed. Acquiring Brillante, Grdic, Scicluna, Hendrix, Clisby, Antonsson (already settled in well), and Brook makes their departed personnel somewhat irrelevant as they’re all excellent replacements, some of which are already very familiar with the A-League. Clisby should offer more going forward than Traore did too. No obvious weaknesses in their squad other than a lack of cohesion, which is to be expected at this point. One slight concern is a lack of natural impact players but Brook, Pierias, and Milanovic should be able to cover that between them. RB looks stronger than ever with Cleur there and Russell soon back from injury, who was amazing before that. Midfielder Simmons looked remarkably adept playing there on occasion last season too. Borrello will be their main man again this season; without him they’ll struggle a little in the final third. Will likely play anti-football under Rudan but he knows how to make it work, and now has the required personnel to make it happen. No reason for this team to fail in challenging for the title, most likely vying with Western United and Melbourne City for the honour. Finishing outside of the top three with this squad would be embarrassing.
