Young Boys have had a superb season, having won their second consecutive Super League title and having made the Champions League group stage for the first time in their history. The Berners not only won the domestic league but did it in real style, having finished the season as many as twenty points ahead of runners-up Basel. The sole real blemish on their season was the 4:0 Swiss Cup defeat they suffered at the hands of Luzern. However, their domestic success has caused clubs from abroad to pay attention and they have lost two regulars in Kevin Mbabu, who joins Wolfsburg, and Djibril Sow, who will be reunited with former boss Adi Hutter at Eintracht. Moreover, skipper Steve von Bergen has ended his playing career. Despite these blows, the Berners are once again well-equipped to compete. They have signed two of last season's Super League standout performers in Marvin Spielmann and Vincent Sierro, as well as Cedric Zesiger, a promising defender who joins from relegated Grasshopper. Defender Saidy Janko joins on loan from Porto, while veteran Fabian Lustenberger returns to Switzerland after a decade with German side Hertha. While undergoing changes during the summer, the Berners once again look very strong and have even more depth than last time around. They have no obvious weaknesses and will be hoping for another positive season.

Target

Their goal will be to win their third consecutive domestic title and enjoy a decent European run.
