Progressed pretty comfortably with a 2:0 win over Serbia on Wednesday, booking the top spot in the group. It was their best performance of the World Cup to date as the team looked assured at the back and attacked with good drive, with Paulinho's first-half goal calming the nerves before Thiago Silva sealed the deal.
It has been a mostly pedestrian group campaign from the tournament favourites but Brazil seem to be picking up a gear and will be greatly encouraged by the fact that they avoided a meeting with their nemesis Germany very early in the competition after the holders' shock exit.
Will be confident of sweeping past Mexico on Monday but Tite knows that the Aztecas have some dangerous players and will warn his star-studded side not to get complacent.
Has a fresh injury worry as Marcelo departed with a back issue early in the Serbia game. Yet he is recovering well and should be part of the squad for the game. Yet he is not ready to start and Felipe Luis will come in. Danilo missed the last two group games but has been training with the team since Friday and is passed fit and available. Dani Alves remains sidelined and Douglas Costa is ruled out with a hamstring strain picked in the game against Costa Rica.
The two teams have a rich history of meetings while they drew 0:0 in the last World Cup.

Mexico moved through to the last 16 of the World Cup, despite losing 3-0 to Sweden on Wednesday. They were well outplayed in that match, despite controlling a good deal of the ball, and were picked off on counterattacks and set pieces.
Earlier in the competition, they stunned Germany 1-0 and they also defeated South Korea 2-1. They both ended in scorelines tighter than Mexico necessarily deserved as they were much the better side in the two games.
Nestor Araujo and Diego Reyes are both missing, having dropped out of the squad shortly before the start of the competition.
Hirving Lozano was declared fit to face Sweden and played a full part in the match without any injury issues.
Hector Moreno is suspended.
Head coach Juan Carlos Osario admitted that he was furious with the way his side played and said that he was cursing himself for failing to adapt sufficiently to Sweden’s tactics in the last match. As such, changes can be expected for this encounter, though these will depend on what he sees fit.
Mexico played Brazil in the 2014 World Cup and held their opponents to a scoreless draw.
