Looking Back

Finally snapped the losing streak when at home against Mouscron in the game at the weekend in what was a 2:2 draw. Yet they really should have won the game after a strong start and a two-goal lead in the bag. Yet they soon conceded a goal and eventually their defensive shape in the second half was broken up, with an equaliser coming before the hour mark.

The result leaves Essevee joint bottom alongside Lokeren and Mouscron and yet again showed just how badly the team that was tipped to push for the top six have fallen since the opening games of the season.

Looking Ahead

Looking to give themselves a massive lift and pull off what would be an upset win against Standard Liege. Essevee have the quality in the ranks to cause the Liege side some problems and Francku Dury will be hopeful that his side show a bit of character for once and give their fans a reason to cheer.

Not many changes in the side expected. No fresh concerns with injuries while Johan Lædre Bjørdal and Henrik Björdal remain likely sidelined for the time being due to injuries. Kingsley Madu is also a definite absentee. Basically it almost a full-strength squad and option are numerous.

Needed a last-gasp equaliser to pick up a 1:1 draw at home against league leaders Genk on Sunday. It was a deserved point at the end as Standard had the better of the chances as a whole and put the opposition under considerable pressure. Yet they got caught at the back 15 minutes before the end. But, for a second game in a row, they scored an injury-time goal as Nekadi Luyindama popped up with a big goal to make it five games without a loss in the league.
