Sheffield United

In Brief

So far so good for Blades in terms of results and displays. In-form Robinson and McGoldrick fresh concerns. Fleck welcomed back.

Looking Back

Blades using excitement generated by return to top flight very well in first few rounds and single defeat after 4 games more than what was expected from them. Able to score in every match played so far and this very important.

Bench playing important part too, 2 goals and an assist already by players coming on as substitute, which makes Sheffield’s reserves the third most effective so far in entire league.

Looking Ahead

Coach Wilder saw both Robinson and McGoldrick sustaining injuries while on international duty, but hopes are that both of them will recover on time. Fleck fully fit though and ready to return.

Mousset could start up front after reports suggest he has impressed a lot during training this international break.

Points of Interest

Haven’t played against Southampton since 2014, but worth mentioning that in all of last 4 clashes between sides there had been a player sent off. Only once it was a Sheffield player.

In Brief

Grew in confidence after 3 consecutive positive results. Redmond remains out. Djenepo doubtful. Bertrand and Obafemi passed late fitness tests. Danso suspended.

Looking Back

Saints followed their League Cup success vs. Fulham with 4 points from 2 league outings and this brought confidence.

Just 1 goal conceded in those 3 games, with back line playing much better this season once manager reverted to back 4.

Looking Ahead

Coach Hasenhuttl glad that Bertrand shrugged off injury on time as Danso will be suspended for this one. Obafemi also fully fit. Djenepo still doubtful, while Redmond unavailable for at least 2 more weeks.

Che Adams yet to score for his new club, but he averages more than 4 shots per game and very soon expected to open his account.

Points of Interest

Yet to score in first halves of matches, all 4 goals so far after the break.
