Burnley

Last updated: Sat 21 September 2019 08:46
In Brief

Winless since season-opener. Drinkwater sidelined. Gudmundsson back in training and could return.

Looking Back

Burnley lucky to save 1:1 draw on visit to Brighton, with substitute Hendrick scoring in stoppage time for the point.

Displays definitely poor and only win so far was in season-opener. On top of 4-game winless run in league out of League Cup after shameful home defeat against team playing 2 divisions lower.

Looking Ahead

Coach Dyche hasn’t changed 10 of his 11 starters for any of the league games so far and he is not fan of rotation policy. If Gudmundsson recovers from injury that kept him out of last 2 matches Clarets could have same line-up as in opening 3 games.

Drinkwater still out after his recent bizarre injury in a night club.

Points of Interest

Yet to score from a set piece this season, while at the same time 3 of 7 goals conceded from set pieces.

Norwich City

In Brief

Stunned champions City in heroic home win. Continue to have worst defensive record. Klose and Aarons amongst 5 long-term absentees. Vrancic and Fahrmann also out. Leitner passed fit.

Looking Back

Norwich defied all odds by beating Man City 3:2 at home, despite having just 1 fit centre-back available. Great work ethic and continuing threat in attack enough for the famous victory.

No surprise in having weakest defence in entire league consider situation, but so far the impressive forward actions compensate for that in certain games.

Looking Ahead

Coach Farke still missing 5 players long-term, plus Vrancic and Fahrmann. Leitner able to pass late fitness test though. Also captain Hanley fit enough to start!

Captain Hanley not fit to start last weekend, but now he should be able to play and at least there will be 2 fit centre-backs in the squad.

Points of Interest

Pukki simply unplayable in first 5 rounds – 6 goals and 2 assists!
