Arsenal

Last updated: Sun 27 October 2019 08:15
In Brief

Under pressure after only 2 wins in last 7 rounds (D3 L2). Dramatic midweek success in Europe achieved after coming from behind twice. No serious injury issues.

Looking Back

Arsenal suffered frustrating 0:1 loss on visit to Sheffield United in last round and the lack of consistency continues to hurt Gunners in the Premier League. Their last 7 games in competition kept seeing cracks in displays – (W2 D3 L2).

Defending once again suspect on Thursday night in home Europa League match vs. Vitoria. Arsenal had to come from behind twice in this match before eventually winning 3:2 in the dying seconds. Pepe was the hero with his late brace.

Looking Ahead

Coach Emery left all of Ceballos, Pepe and Aubameyang on the bench in midweek, but now they all should start.

Have plenty of options to rotate in other positions if feeling the need with only sidelined player youngster Nelson.

Crystal Palace

In Brief

Enjoying strong start to season, 4 wins in last 7 rounds. Sakho ruled out. Guaita and Kelly slight doubts.

Looking Back

Palace unable to resist Man City at home last weekend and after chasing shadows all match Eagles logically lost 0:2.

Despite that set back season so far has been great and with 4 wins in 6 rounds prior City-test Hodgson’s men are not short on confidence. Already beat Man United and West Ham away from home this season and very dangerous on counterattack.

Looking Ahead

Coach Hodgson has to wait and see if Guaita and Kelly can play, but both are back in training as of Thursday. Sakho remains out though.

Zaha continues to struggle, no goals and just 1 assist, but he is Palace’s icon and will continue being given starts until his luck changes.

Points of Interest

Since last August Eagles have been awarded the most penalties in the entire league.
