In Brief

No fresh concerns and only Joao and Yiadom remain sidelined.

Looking Back

Played a solid game at a strong Nottingham Forest side as they battled to a 1:1 draw against a side sitting in the play-off zone. It was definitely a more resolute showing than at Millwall a few days earlier as Reading have now lost just on the last 11.

Got past Blackpool after a replay in the previous round of the FA Cup after a 2:0 win away from home.

Looking Ahead

Face Championship rivals Cardiff at home as Reading look to make it to the next round of the Cup. Mark Bowen is unlikely to use too many regulars who played in midweek.

No fresh injury issues and only Lucas Joao and Andy Yiadom remain on the sidelines.

Points of Interest

Reading are unbeaten in the last 6 meetings between the two sides, winning three of them. They are also uneaten at home against this opponent since 2011.

Manager Comments

Bowen: "Any game we play we always want to win it, so I’ll be picking the team accordingly. Perhaps it might not be as many changes as before but I’ll pick the side that I believe can go and win the game against Cardiff because like our supporters, everybody loves a cup run and I’m no different."

In Brief

League form poor. FA Cup record also dismal. Vassell and 2 others remain sidelined. Ward also ruled out + Peltier major doubt. Main goalie Etheridge close to leaving.

Looking Back

Cardiff came from behind to draw 1:1 on visit to Birmingham, with result slightly flattering Bluebirds as they were convincingly outplayed in first half. Tomlin not only scored goal, but was by far best Cardiff player in this one.

Form poor, just 1 win in last 8 rounds (D5 L2) and also struggling on the road all season. Only 2 of 9 league wins achieved away from home, while 6 of 7 defeats coming outside Cardiff.

Also haven’t been to round 5 of FA Cup in 10 years!

Looking Ahead

Coach Harris likely to trust main striker Glatzel from off in this one, especially after Ward was taken off injured last weekend and is set to miss.

Other changes likely too with Ralls, Vaulks and Paterson all pushing for starts.

Main goalie Etheridge linked with move away and unlikely to feature, while none of 3 long-term absentees back in full training. Peltier also unlikely to be risked after recent injury.

Points of Interest

Haven’t beaten Reading in 5 years – (D3 L3)!
