Liverpool

Last updated: Tue 04 February 2020 08:29
In Brief

Entire first team and coaching staff away on holiday. Will use only youngsters coached by U23 manager. Mane, Milner and Shaqiri sidelined Larouci doubtful. .

Looking Back

Liverpool rightfully refused to cancel holiday plans after being robbed of ridiculously short ‘break’ as it is with this needless replay. Coach Klopp together with his entire coaching staff and all first-team players won’t be involved in this one.

Already used same group of teenagers once in League Cup in December, which resulted in 0:5 away loss vs. Aston Villa.

Looking Ahead

The U23 coaching staff has at least some nailed on starters to confirm. Likes of Kelleher, Williams, Jones and Elliott expected to be involved from the off. Larouci was also nailed on at left-back before he picked up knock in game for U23s and now he needs to be assessed quickly.

Mane and 3 others missing game anyway as they are injured.

Shrewsbury

Last updated: Tue 04 February 2020 06:21
In Brief

Poor league form continued with a 1:0 defeat at Rochdale. Their best recent displays have come in the FA cup. Oliver Nornburn doubtful. Conor McAleny , Kayne Ramsey and Harry Burgoyne all cannot play.

Looking Back

Shrewsbury's league slump continued last weekend, as a late goal condemned them to a 1:0 defeat at Rochdale.

The Shrews' best displays of late have come in the FA Cup. Their draw versus Liverpool in the first leg was preceded by a win over Championship side Bristol City.

Looking Ahead

Oliver Nornburn has missed the previous two games after failing late fitness tests and remains doubtful.

Conor McAleny, Kayne Ramsey and Harry Burgoyne all cannot play, having not been at the club for the first game against the Reds.

Points of Interest

Shrewsbury have a midtable away record in League One, but have one of the worst away scoring records in the league, having netted only nine times in fifteen away games.
