In Brief

Survival in league practically impossible, but still dreaming of FA Cup glory. Already knocked out 2 Premier League sides in this competition. Zimmermann amongst 3 defenders set to miss rest of season. Drmic fresh concern. Empty stands.

Looking Back

Norwich look doomed to suffer relegation from top flight after resuming league campaign with back-to-back home defeats in which no goals scored. On Wednesday another flat display against Everton resulted in 0:1 loss.

Canaries top flight team that have conceded most goals from corner-kicks this season, already 14 such goals conceded. Also most goals conceded after losing ball in own part of pitch – 10!

In previous 2 rounds of FA Cup knocked out Burnley and Tottenham, both those sides beaten away from home. Drmic scored crucial goals in both those matches.

Looking Ahead

Coach Farke hinted that he’s taking this competition very serious with his selection choices in midweek. He left arguably 3 best attacking players Cantwell, Buendia and Pukki on bench vs. Everton, which suggests that now they all will start.

Can’t rotate in defence though with Zimmermann just 1 of 3 seriously injured defenders that will miss rest of season.

Drmic has picked up knock in midweek and he might not be risked. Wasn't expected to start anyway!

In Brief

Ambitions to win this competition high. Coming off impressive display in 3:0 home win vs. Sheffield United. No serious injury issues.

Looking Back

United impressed in 3:0 home win vs. Sheffield United on Wednesday. Martial was the hero of game with his hat-trick, but superstars Pogba and Fernandes also linked up very well in what was their first start together.

In FA Cup kept 4 clean sheets in 4 games, but worth stressing that draw kind in last 2 rounds when lower league sides faced. Only serious opponents were Wolves, with United needing replay and narrow 1:0 win to eliminate them.

Looking Ahead

Coach Solskjaer desperate to win trophy in his first full season in charge and FA Cup is only realistic chance he has left.

Still rotation likely with all of Bailly, Williams, McTominay, Fred, James and Ighalo on bench in midweek, but now hoping to start. Only 2 fringe defenders will miss injured and squad practically at full strength.

Manager Comments

On rotation: "There will have to be a few changes, because there's a game again on Tuesday and then Saturday."
