Ostersunds and Goteborg made boring restarts to the season, with the starved of action clash between the sides logically ending in a goalless draw. The visitors had slight edge in the first half, while Ostersunds got the upper hand after the interval, but neither side convinced enough.
Quiet start to the match saw nothing much happening in the opening 20 minutes. Both teams struggled to settle into rhythm.
It was Goteborg that first started passing the ball better, with Karlsson-Lagemyr their most lively player. It was his shot on 21 minutes that fizzed a whisker wide that provided the first exciting moment of the match.
Karlsson-Lagemyr was involved in 2 other decent attacks for his team before getting off the pitch injured late in the first half, which ended Goteborg’s period of domination.
Ostersunds played slightly better second half and if nothing else the hosts controlled the midfield better after the break.
It took the home side 57 minutes before they had a shot on target, with Amin’s shot from 30 yards out easily saved.
That was pretty much all the excitement of the second half though, with the final 20 minutes again turning into a tactical battle, with both teams worried more not to lose.
Both Ostersunds and Goteborg seem destined to mid-table existence this season, with neither team having enough depth and firepower to challenge for top 3 finish.
