Game Report

Highlights

Juventus got the job done early as two quickfire goals in the opening 16 minutes were enough to seal a comfortable home victory over Bologna at the Allianz Stadium. Paulo Dybala broke his duck for the season with the opener and Blaise Matuidi added a second shortly afterwards to maintain the Bianconeri's perfect start.

Detail

Juventus were looking to maintain their flawless start and record an seventh straight victory in all competitions this season. It didn't take them long to go in front as Leonardo Bonucci took the direct route with a long pass which appeared to just hit Dybala and fall kindly to Matuidi. The Frenchman's shot was saved by Lukasz Skorupski but Dybala was there to hook in the rebound.

The champions doubled their tally just a few minutes after the opener. It came from a quickfire counter-attack which saw Cristiano Ronaldo knock Dybala's deep delivery back across goal for Matuidi who rifled a fierce finish in off the underside of the bar.

Bologna had just come off a shock win over Roma at the weekend but they looked all over the place defensively in the first half. They did almost give themselves a glimmer of hope when Diego Falcinelli broke forward but he could only curl his finish wide.

Juventus maintained control of the game in a less than eventful second half. Massimiliano Allegri took off both Miralem Pjanic and Juan Cuadrado who were on bookings, making sure they didn't risk a suspension with a huge game against Napoli to come at the weekend.

The visitors showed no real ambition to try to get back into the game and it just became a damage limitation exercise for them. They had Skorupski to thank for keeping the score down as he made a couple of magnificent saves to deny Joao Cancelo and Emre Can.

Summary

That was about as comfortable as it can get for Juventus who got the early goals and then basically cruised for the remainder of the contest. They didn't exert themselves too much ahead of the massive top-of-the-table clash with Napoli at the weekend. Bologna were simply beaten by the much better side on the night and can have no complaints about the result. They've played Roma and Juve in the space of a few days so three points form those two tough fixtures is a decent return.
