Game Report

Highlights

Jarrod Bowen was the Hull hero as his two goals earned them a shock 2-0 win at Leeds. Bowen scored in each half as Hull made it four straight victories to move up to 14th. This was a game too far for Leeds who saw a magnificent seven game winning run ended. But they remain top by three points despite this setback.

Detail

Leeds opted for an unchanged side as they looked to follow up the 3-2 victory over Blackburn. Hull had changes as Tommy Elphick was recalled by Aston Villa so Reece Burke and Jordy De Wijs both started. Evandro and Will Keane also came in.

Bowen broke the deadlock on 25 minutes as he capitalised on some bleak Leeds defending.

Bowen has been by far and away Hull's best player this term and made it 10 goals for the season 13 minutes after the restart as he scored after sub Jon Toral had been denied by Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Leeds dominated the closing stages but it really was not their day with poor finishing letting them down. Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts were both denied on the line while Kemar Roofe was denied by David Marshall while Burke and De Wijs defended superbly.

Summary

Hull will be delighted with their showing at both ends. Bowen has impressed this term and they may well do well to keep him in January. Defensively they were also impressive despite their predicament. Boss Marcelo Bielsa will hope this was just a bad day for Leeds rather than anything more serious. They certainly remain in a superb position.
