Aboubaker Kamara scored twice after being drafted in for a rare start as Fulham came from behind to win 2-1 at home to QPR. The Cottagers moved to 4th but rode their luck against a QPR side, who are now without a victory in five matches, with the visitors dominating the first quarter of this match after taking the lead through Jordan Hugill.
Kamara came in with Aleksandar Mitrovic suspended. QPR went for a more attacking eleven with Hugill, Nahki Wells and Ebere Eze all starting.
This was as dominant an opening as they come for QPR with Hugill scoring a scrambled goal early on and then he was denied on numerous occasions by Marek Rodak. Tim Ream also hit his own post and Rangers will rue their failure to take chances.
Fulham improved with Kamara levelling up with a header from Denis Odoi's cross while Ivan Cavaleiro hit the post.
Harrison Reed went off injured for Fulham but replacement Bobby Reid impressed. And an energetic second half performance from the Cottagers ultimately proved vital with Kamara scoring the winner after an error from Lumley. Anthony Knockaert then hit the post while QPR offered little response.
QPR will be kicking themselves as they were brilliant for 25 minutes and should have been 3-0 up. They just did not take their chances. Fulham now need some consistency. They were not at their best but recovered after their poor start.
