Game Report

Highlights

Leaders Luton made a mockery out of Doncaster's play-off aspirations by beating the Rovers 4:0. The hosts had by far the better side over the ninety minutes and the scoreline did not flatter them one bit.

Detail

It was one-way traffic from the start, with a combination of fine goalkeeping and poor finishing keeping the hosts out in the opening thirty minutes.

The deadlock was finally broken on 33, when Pelly Ruddock fired home from 20 yards out.

The Hatters remained well on top, with Danny Hylton looking lively, as he twice came close before striking the post.

He got the goal his performance deserved on 57, when he fired home from cloese range.

The one-way traffic continued and the hosts went on to score two late goals to seal a memorable win.

Summary

With Luton, the question is becoming more and more when and not if they will secure their automatic promotion, as they maintain a lead over the chasing pack and are showing no signs of slowing down. Doncaster are now out of the play-off places. They will have a chance to bounce back in in midweek, but their form will worry Grant McCann.
