Joe Jacobson scored two goals and created another one, as Wycombe moved to the top of the League One table with a 3:1 win over Lincoln. The visitors were missing players through injuries and international call-ups and it showed, as they played below their usual standards with the hosts clearly the better side.
The visitors were having the majority of possession, but Wycombe were the more dangerous side of the two.
Jacobson put them ahead with a free-kick early on before his corner, which seemed to be going in, touched Michael Bostwick on its way in.
The visitors had their best spell after the break and saw Tyler Walker strike the post before pulling a goal back through John Akinde.
Wycombe did a good job of soaking up the visitors' pressure after that and restored the two-goal margin when Jacobson scored with another direct effort from a corner.
Lincoln never threatened a lifeline, while the hosts could have won by even more, but saw Nick Freeman hit the bar with a chip.
Another superb result for the Chairboys. They continue surpassing all expectations, but it is obviously hard to see them keep up their current form. On the other side, a disappointing result for Lincoln, but their squad situation made it impossible for them to be at their best.
