Celta Vigo and Real Valladolid played out a goalless draw on Friday night. Celta Vigo got better and better towards the end and had a few chances to win it, but couldn't take them.
Real Valladolid played some really nice football early on, passing it around and pulling the Celta Vigo defence apart to create some good chances.
On two occasions in the first half, Real Valladolid centre-back Mohammed Salisu made big mistakes that put Iago Aspas through on goal. But Aspas couldn't take either chance due to good work from Jordi Masip.
Celta Vigo were much more dominant in the second half. They were especially good on the left-hand side, where Lucas Olaza put several dangerous balls into the box.
With Celta Vigo's introductions of Gabriel Fernandez and Rafinha, they became even stronger in attack and created several chances towards the end. Santi Mina had a really great chance late on, but couldn't take it.
After a first half in which Real Valladolid were good, Celta Vigo were much better in the second half and probably created enough to win this. But a mixture of a good Jordi Masip and poor Celta Vigo finishing meant they couldn't get the goal to win.
