In Brief

Rotation likely after a dismal showing last weekend. Strauss situation unclear but defence suffering because of it. Western derby.

Looking Back

Were beaten black and blue by Rapid Vienna last time out. Ended up being downed 4-0 but the reality is that it could have - and should have - been even worse. If not for Stojanovic's heroics, it could have hit double figures.

Looking Ahead

Rotation likely after an absolutely unacceptable showing in the capital last time out, which could include the likes of Lukacevic, Aigner, and Nuhiu starting.

Piffer, Maksimovic, and Kaiba are all fit but were recently playing with the Junior team. Their re-integration should be slow. None are missed.

Young defender Ouedraogo is back from injury but now needs to build fitness.

Midfield regular Bukta is carrying a long-term injury. He did not make either squad so far this season. Not a loss with Gebauer available, although it could be if they lose Gebauer.

Backup GK Schutzenauer is carrying an injury; not a problem whilst Stojanovic is available.

Defenders Strauss and Nelson were absent last match. The latter is more rotation so it's not big news, but Strauss is their best defender. There isn't a reported injury, but he's been linked with a transfer to Barnsley so his head may not have been in the right place to play. He was sorely missed in both Bundesliga matches.

Points of Interest

In Brief

CB remains a problem. Skrbo closing in on a return. Sulzbacher returns. Muller is out. Matthäus Taferner may debutise. Western derby.

Looking Back

Were humbled 3-0 at the hands of Red Bull Salzburg at the weekend. They tried their best, but were simply out of their depth against the reigning champions, especially without Bacher. Held out for a while but ultimately succumbed.

Looking Ahead

Skrbo, Tomic, and Blume all had substantial injuries that kept them out of the last match. Skrbo is back in training but will not return just yet. Sulzbacher returned last match. Tomic and Blume back in training but won't be risked. Blume will still be missed.

Number one goalkeeper Oswald is a long-term absentee, which remains a problem.

CB remains a problem. Captain Bacher ruled out until late August, and Okungbowa has not been convincing. New signing Gugganig has been forced to play perhaps earlier than they'd like. Bacher is massively missed.

There's no reason to change the starting eleven.

Midfielder Matthäus Taferner - formerly of Wolfsberger AC - has signed on a free transfer and may debutise, especially with vice-captain Muller carrying an injury.
