Easy 2-0 home win over Cagliari. Host Ferencvaros without Buffon, Demiral, Chiellini, Bonucci and Khedira. Ramsey should return.

Looking Back

It took them some time to break the deadlock against Cagliari but, once they did, they immediately killed the match off. Should have better exploited counter-attacks in the second half.

Ronaldo scored 8 goals in 5. Great performance by Arthur in the midfield. Bernardeschi also played his best game in the season. Positive debut for De Ligt. Demiral served assist and hit the bar.

Looking Ahead

Kept first clean sheet after a month. Won 3 out of the last 4. Scored at least 2 in 7 out of 11. Will be hosting Ferencvaros, having won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1 at home, with 7 goals scored and 3 conceded overall, all competitions considered.

Won 2 and lost 1 so far in the Group.

Chiellini and Bonucci are out. Ramsey should return for this one. Demiral should sit 10 days out due to a muscular injury. Buffon is out with muscular fatigue.

Khedira is ineligible.

Cuadrado is one yellow card away from suspension.

Emergency at the back as they have no valid alternatives on the bench for the heart of the defence.

Arthur could be preferred to Rabiot in the middle of the park. Dybala could prevail over Morata up-front.

Points of Interest

Juventus hosted Ferencvaros once in 1965, in the Final of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, and lost 0-1.

Manager Comments

Tonight it was important to win and do it with this kind of performance. We had to have the dominance of the game from the first to the last minute and I think the guys did it at their best tonight.

Once physically recovered, Arthur is a player who knows how to play football like no other, so he is very important to our playing structure.

We have to give continuity to performance and results, it would bother me a lot if there were not the same intensity. We need it as a team but also to give continuity to the growth path.

Who plays defense tomorrow? Kulusevski or Chiesa up-front? "Behind there are four left and they will play with Danilo central and Alex Sandro returning to the position of full-back. We'll see the rest, Kulusevski has played many games while Chiesa I don't think he's ready for the first minute after the muscle problem. Let's see tomorrow how they are".

In Brief

Civic and Frimpong injury concerns but everyone else is fit. Botka quarantined.

Looking Back

Played a rather poor game at home against Juventus and were swept aside far too easily in a 4:1 loss in the last group game.

Maintain a nearly perfect run domestically after grinding out a 1:0 win away at Honved at the weekend, with a goal in the first half securing a win that keeps them clear at the top and still unbeaten.

Looking Ahead

Heading to Italy with ambition and determination to make it a close game against Juventus and apply themselves better than in the game at home, with such mistakes at the back not allowed this time around.

Endre Botka will have to miss the game as the versatile defender was in close contact with a COVID-19 infected person and has to be in quarantine. Sergey Rebrov has otherwise mostly a full squad. Only two defenders are currently nursing knocks and will be assessed ahead of the midweek game in Abraham Frimpong and Eder Civic.
