In Brief

Returned to winning ways with a 4-2 come-back home win over Torino. Host Real Madrid without Pinamonti, Brozovic, Kolarov, Padelli and Vecino. Sensi returns.

Looking Back

Failed to play for a bit more than a half-time against Torino and woke up only after going 2 goals down. Then, managed to overturn the result and ended up dominating.

Lukaku scored a brace and set his foot also in the other goals. Martinez came on and led the charge. Sanchez started badly but redeemed himself, scoring and assisting. Young was outplayed by Singo and caused penalty kick.

Looking Ahead

Set end to a 4-game winless run overall. Had not scored more than 2 since late September. Conceded at least 2 for the 7th time in 11. Will be hosting Real Madrid, having won 1, drawn 2 and lost 1 at home, with 9 goals scored and 9 conceded overall, all competitions considered.

Are still to win first Champions League game, having drawn 2 and lost 1 so far. A further defeat could seriously jeopardise their future in the competition.

Sensi is back with the group. Pinamonti is recovering from physical issues and should be out.

Kolarov, Brozovic and Padelli are dealing with Covid 19.

Vecino and Padelli are ineligible.

Vidal is one yellow card away from suspension.

Young should prevail over Perisic and Darmian on the left.

Points of Interest

Inter hosted Real Madrid 8 times: they won 6 and drew 2. Overall, they scored 15 goals and conceded 5. They won the last 3, scoring at least 2 goals in all of them.

Manager Comments

The positive aspect is the reaction that took place, the fury that we then demonstrated. We need to have more desire and fire within us, it's my job to feed it in each of the players. We must understand that in addition to the qualities, we must put something on the level of fury and determination.

Today we created a very offensive situation in order to resume the match, with three strikers, Lukaku, Sanchez, Lautaro, two midfielders like Vidal and Barella, two wings in fact like Hakimi and Perisic, therefore with total traction.

For us this represents a final, also because after the defeat in the first leg and the two previous draws we don't have many ways out.

Is there any chance that Sanchez can play from the start with Lautaro and Lukaku? "It could be a solution more in the game in progress or if you play with lower-level teams than Inter. We are already a fairly offensive team, with winger who are more than wingers. We have midfielders with much more offensive than defensive characteristics, three forwards they would be very difficult to bear. "

In Brief

Have had a couple of poor results in LaLiga. This Champions League group is still very much in the balance. Missing the injured Fede Valverde, Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Odriozola and Karim Benzema. Missing Eder Militao and Luka Jovic due to COVID-19.

Looking Back

Have taken just one point from last six available in LaLiga.

Their win over Inter in the last Champions League match was their first of this season. On four points, Real Madrid still need to pick up points to qualify from this group.

Looking Ahead

Starting midfielder Fede Valverde is out injured, but there is good news as fellow starter Casemiro returns. Valverde's place can be taken by Luka Modric or Martin Odegaard.

Starting centre-forward Karim Benzema is out injured and backup centre-forward Luka Jovic is out due to COVID-19. Can be replaced by Mariano, who scored at the weekend.

Starting centre-back Sergio Ramos is out injured, while backup centre-back Eder Militao is out due to COVID-19. So, Raphael Varane and Nacho can form the centre-back partnership.

Backup right-back Alvaro Odriozola is out injured.

Points of Interest

Real Madrid will have had one extra day of rest since they were last in action on Saturday and Inter were last in action on Sunday.
