In Brief

Carry decisive lead into second leg, but can’t afford to relax. All the focus these days on Champions League. At full strength.

Looking Back

City came from behind to win 2:1 in Paris last week, with Sky Blues poor in first half of game but hugely impressive after the break when they could have easily scored 2-3 more goals.

Citizens yet to lose in this year’s Champions League (W10 D1) and they continue to have best defensive record in entire competition – just 4 goals conceded in those 11 games.

Domestic title already won and for rest of campaign all the attention on Champions League.

Looking Ahead

Coach Guardiola blessed to work with fully fit squad, apart from very rarely used Garcia who is out sick, and he also rested many of his stars at weekend.

Sterling, Jesus and Aguero struggle for form lately and as result they all could be benched now. City using tactics with false nine often this season, so far all of Foden, Torres, De Bruyne and Silva had been trusted with this role and now one of them could lead attack again.

Manager Comments

"You cannot play 90 mins like we played in the second half [in Paris]. I would love to but it won’t happen. You have to understand it will be a big battle and we are going to suffer. They have to visualise that we are going to do it. What we have to do is not different to what we have done over the last seven months. Go out and play our game and win."

In Brief

PSG beat Lens at the weekend. Mbappe is a doubt along with Dagba. Gueye is banned. Strong away form in Europe.

Looking Back

Paris Saint-Germain secured a 2-1 win over Lens at the weekend to keep their title aspirations in Ligue 1 alive, with Neymar and Marquinhos on target. Marquinhos has now scored in his last two games.

Mauricio Pochettino heavily rotated his side for that match. Of the outfield players who had played in the 2-1 loss against Manchester City, only Idrissa Gueye, Presnel Kimpembe, Neymar and Marquinhos started.

PSG have taken some big scalps away from home in the Champions League this season. They have won their last three games against Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich by scorelines that would see them progress.

Looking Ahead

Kylian Mbappe has a minor calf injury that casts doubts over his participation. Likely to be available – and it is important that he is.

Juan Bernat still out and Colin Dagba a doubt.

Gueye is suspended after he was sent off last week. Danilo is the player likely to come into the side, though Marco Verratti could also be used in a deeper role.

PSG’s challenge will be to perform to the standard they managed in the first 45 minutes last week over the duration. If they do, they have a strong chance.

Points of Interest

PSG had a better xG than Manchester City in the first leg (1.14 v 0.83).
