Football Season Review

№5: Mjallby AIF

A record season for the newcomers which ended in the 5th place of Allsvenskan getting 47 points in total. In that way they surpassed their previous record of the 6th place in 2010. Mjallby ended the season with 5 wins and one draw and moreover they gained the most points than any other team since early September. In the last 12 matches of Allsvenskan they got 23 points. Moses Ogbu was the key player in all this effort with 14 goals in 19 starting appearances. He had a slow start early in the season but, as he was getting more matches as a starter, he scored more and more. Mjallby were very good at home getting 28 points at home and being in the third place of the league table taking into account only the home matches just behind Malmo and Hacken. That doesn't mean of course that the team wasn't strong on the road as well, as they had decent performances in away matches, too. Next season's target should be to repeat such performances and why not to target for a European Competition Qualifiers' spot.
