Despite winning just one of their first 13 league games, Palace managed to bounce back, grew into the season and finished 12th in the table, having picked up a club-record 53 Premier League points. Yet, the highlight of last term was none other than their win in the FA Cup final against Manchester City to secure both a major trophy and European qualification for the first time in the club's history. Palace haven’t been particularly active in the summer transfer window. A few backup players have been released, with their departures being followed by a couple of signings to add depth. Not only have Palace kept their backbone intact for the time being, but they could even kick off the new campaign fielding the same starting XI they ended last season with. They’ve prioritized keeping hold of their prized assets including Marc Guehi, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eberechi Eze, all of whom have drawn interest from Premier League powerhouses. Palace’s main strength lies in their exciting trident of Mateta, Eze and Ismaila Sarr – arguably one of the youngest and most talented attacking trios in the league. Having won just six of their 19 games at Selhurst Park last season, Palace need to improve their home form in order to climb up the table. This, along with their lack of depth on the bench, could prove costly should injuries strike.

Target

Taking into account that Palace will be juggling between competitions, a top-half finish should be a realistic target for this season.
