FC Cincinnati endured a miserable inaugural campaign in the MLS as they finished bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with the worst points per game tally for an expansion club since Chivas USA in 2005. Cincinnati have gone in for a major makeover of their roster starting with their coach, with Ron Jans leaving the club just two weeks before the season kicks off, leaving Yoann Damet to once again take over on a temporary basis. Offense was a major problem for Cincinnati and they have dumped Fanendo Adi following a disastrous season and have brought in two players established in Europe, Jurgen Locadia and Yuya Kubo. Haris Medunjanin is their other big signing and is expected to play a key role in the midfield for Cincinnati along with fellow new signing Siem de Jong though the presence of two attack minded midfielders means they will need to come up with a defensive setup to protect a backline that will be unchanged from last season. There is no way but up for Cincinnati following a disastrous inaugural season and the bolstering of their offense means they will score more goals compared to last campaign though key to their prospects will be how effectively they can keep their opponents out.

Target

Will be looking to improve on a disastrous inaugural campaign and are unlikely to come anywhere near the playoffs spots
